With the roll out of the NBN the traditional copper network that our phone systems traditionally ran on is being replaced.
This means that our traditional, PSTN (Telstra white phones) no longer work on the NBN network.
he new network utilities a technology called VOIP (Voice Over Interent Protocol) which simply means that our phone calls now go over the Internet.
Some homes may have already used technology like this with Skype and Facetime.
What does this mean for me ?
It means when you move to the NBN you need to either –
- Replace your existing phone/s with new VOIP compatible phones (which you can obtain from us).
- Purchase an adapter for your phone/s (which you can obtain from us).
- Or purchase a router that has “phone” ports that you can plug up to 2 standard phones into (again purchasable through us).
